The semi-annual CandleLight Prayer Service
held at St. Joseph New Cemetery
continues to grow in popularity.
This spring event hosted nearly 300 friends and family
who came to both grieve for and celebrate the life of
their deceased loved ones.
There are prayers, readings and songs,
and a homily given by a guest Celebrant
( Fr. Jim Meade was the Celebrant for this Spring 2008 service ).
Midway through is a procession to the altar to receive a lit candle.
The walk continues down the side aisles and back to your seat.
It is a meaningful event for old and young alike.
Refreshments are provided at the end of the service.
